Invicta Couriers collects from businesses and homes in Canterbury, and takes the goods on to wherever they need to go in mainland UK. We’re based about 7 miles away, in Whitstable. To book, phone 01227 773030, or send your details through the form below.

Collections in the city centre

The centre of Canterbury is a pedestrian zone, and security bollards control when vehicles can enter. A van can only reach some addresses there at certain times.

So when you book, we ask about any access or parking limits at your address, and our office checks them as well. We then send the driver at a time, and to a place, where a van is allowed. Our drivers keep to the rules of the road and look out for signs.

If a driver meets a restriction we weren’t told about, they call the office for advice. The office then calls you to explain and find a solution with you.

Where the goods go

Most of our Canterbury work is collecting, not delivering. From the city, goods go across Kent, into London and the South East, or to any address in mainland UK. We take short trips within Canterbury too.

Booking a collection

Call us on a weekday, 7am to 5pm. If the goods need collecting today, tell us when you call. We’ll try to make it work, but we can’t name a time before we know the details. Booked jobs can run at any hour, on any day of the week.

It helps to have ready:

  • the address and postcode, and any access or parking limits you know about;
  • what the goods are, their rough size and weight, and whether they must stay chilled or frozen;
  • where they’re going, and when they need to arrive.

The right van

Our vans and Lutons are all 3.5 tonnes or under, and the Lutons have tail-lifts. Anything that must stay chilled or frozen goes in one of our refrigerated vans, and bulky loads go with our large-item courier service. Your goods can have a van to themselves, or share one with other customers’ goods for a lower price.

Prices

We price each job on its own, from the vehicle, the miles and the hours it will take. Tell us about the job and we’ll price it. Our journey cost calculator gives a rough fuel figure for any trip from Canterbury.

Questions about Canterbury collections

Do you collect from Canterbury’s trading estates?

Yes, from most of them. Wincheap is one of the most common, and we already work for businesses there.

Do you have an office in Canterbury?

No. We work from our base in Whitstable. Canterbury is a good location for us, because our drivers start each morning from many places across east and north Kent.

Do you deliver into Canterbury as well?

Yes. We plan a delivery in the same way as a collection, starting with any access limits at the address.

Can you collect elsewhere in Kent?

Yes, from anywhere in the county. See our page on courier and delivery across Kent.

    Anna Taylor

    Bakkavor Group is a leading international food manufacturing company specialising in freshly prepared foods and produce.

    The company have five core values that underpin the way we do business, one of which is, customer care: We are committed to supplying outstanding service, quality and value, never forgetting that our relationship with our customers is pivotal to our success.

    Invicta Couriers have helped us to achieve this in conjunction with our team at Tilmanstone. They provide transport solutions for the effective distribution of samples to our customers and internal buying teams. On many occasions that has been at short notice and often outside traditional working hours.

    We have been working with Invicta’s for a number of years now and would consider their flexible approach and professional manner a credit to their management team.

    It is on this basis that I would not hesitate to recommend their services to any business.

    I confirm that I have dealt with Invicta Couriers since 2004, during which time they have provided our company with excellent support in transporting our water samples from our offices in Folkestone to our laboratories in Watford and Staines.

    One of the reasons we initially approached Invicta was due to the fact that they could offer temperature controlled vehicles with constant monitoring, to ensure that our strict guidelines are adhered to.

    One of the reasons we have remained with Invicta is based in the good working relationship and trust that has developed. The nature of our business means that we can require sample transportation during unsociable hours and very often, at very short notice. I’m delighted to say that Invicta Couriers have always been able to accommodate our needs.

    I can confidently recommend Invicta Couriers as providers of a flexible and reliable service.
